IWC launches the special edition of the marine timepiece ‘Shark’ (model: IW379506) with a hammerhead shark engraved on the bottom of the watch, limited to 500 pieces. Books with the same name are on sale.
The book ‘Shark’ was published by TASCHEN and autographed by photographer Michael Muller. Michael Mueller is an American photographer known for his portraits of Hollywood stars. In the past few years, he has traveled the world to record shark species worldwide with unprecedented superb photography techniques.
Today, more and more shark species are at risk of extinction. More than 100 million sharks are killed each year, and continued overfishing also threatens sharks’ food sources. ‘Protection of endangered species is an important environmental theme of IWC. This is also our close cooperation with the Darwin Foundation since 2009 to support projects such as shark populations in the Galapagos Marine Reserve The reasons for protection, ‘explained Georges Kern, CEO of IWC.
